AGARTALA: Violence erupted in Gandatwisa subdivision of Tripura‘s Dhalai district, with two groups clashing over the death of a youth on Friday night, which left seven policemen injured, reports .
Prohibitory orders were imposed on Saturday for two days under section 163 of BNSS. A large posse of security personnel has been deployed to maintain peace. Tension escalated the previous night after the death of Parameshwar Reang, 21, who had been thrashed by a group of people in a fair ground on July 7.
Police have arrested four persons involved in the attack on Parameshwar and all of them are in judicial custody.
