NEW DELHI: Days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in the US, Canadian MP Chandra Arya on Monday said that the incident should serve as a stark reminder for politicians in his country.
Taking to X, Arya advised politicians to refrain from supporting Khalistan sympathizers and to condemn their public celebrations on the anniversary of the death of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
“The assassination attempt on President Trump should be a stark reminder for Canadian politicians to condemn Khalistan supporters’ public celebration of the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards turned assassins,” he said.

The Canadian MP also urged politicians to stop attending Khalistani rallies and events, and recommended calling out Khalistanis who target Hindu-Canadians.
“Stop attending rallies, events, and places where the biggest terrorism event in Canadian history—the Air India bombing—is celebrated and where Khalistani terrorists responsible for this attack are glorified,” Arya said.
“Call out Khalistanis who target Hindu-Canadians,” he added.
Arya was referring to the bombing of Air India flight 182, the Kanishka, by Khalistani terrorists on June 23, 1985. The attack claimed 329 lives and remains the worst incident of terror in Canadian history.
