Actor Varun Dhawan has been reveling in the joys of parenthood since welcoming his adorable daughter, Lara, with wife Natasha Dalal on June 3, 2024.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Varun opened up about his experience as a new parent. The ‘Badlapur’ actor expressed the strong protective instincts he feels as a new father. He shared that while motherhood brings a unique transformation, often likened to a tigress’ protective nature, fatherhood also ignites a powerful drive to shield his daughter. Varun admitted that if anyone were to harm his daughter, he would kill them.
The actor shared that his newfound sense of responsibility as a parent has given him a deeper understanding of his own father. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalled how his father would often worry about his safety and well-being, displaying behaviors driven by anxiety and a need for everyone to be together.
Varun admitted that he never understood this at the time, often questioning why his father was so concerned about him being home on time and always wanting to keep him close. However, he now sees things from a different perspective.
The actor added that now, having become a father himself, he has gained a new perspective on his father’s concerns. He expressed that he now understands it completely, something he couldn’t grasp before.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun’s much-awaited ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, the latest series in the Citadel franchise, finally hit screens on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The series, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles, serves as a prequel to the Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden-led series ‘Citadel’ which debuted in 2023.
