Malaika Arora and family performed the last rites of her father, Anil Mehta, on Thursday September 12. Nearly the whole of Khan family and several close friends of the actress were seen at the Santacruz crematorium, extending support to the grieving family.
Late night on Thursday, Vijay Varma penned a note on X, requesting privacy for the Arora family during this difficult time. Without mentioning their name, Vijay wrote, “Please leave the grieving family alone..it’s not easy anyway for them. Thoda toh grace rakho media walon (Have some grace media people) (folding hands emoji).”
Previously, Varun Dhawan had also appealed to the paparazzi to maintain humanity in the coverage. In an Instagram story, the actor had penned, “It is the most insensitive thing to point cameras on the face of people who are grieving please (folded hands emoji) think what you people are doing or what someone is going through when you do this. I understand this is work but sometimes another human might not be okay with this (folded hands emoji)… humanity.”
Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Mehta, passed away at the age of 62. The Mumbai Police is currently probing the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. In a statement to the media a Mumbai Police officer had said in Hindi, “Anil Mehta used to live on the sixth floor. We are carrying out a detailed investigation from all angles… our forensic teams are here for investigation. His body is being sent for postmortem. We are investigating everything… prima facie it looks like suicide, we are conducting further investigation.” According to IANS, Mehta had called both his daughters saying, “I’m tired,” before ending his life.
