NEW DELHI: A bizarre event unfolded in Bihar after a young girl who planned to take her own life on the railway tracks ended up falling asleep instead.
According to social media users, the girl had gone to Chakia railway station with an apparent intent to commit suicide. She lay down on the tracks as she awaited the arrival of a train. However, exhaustion overcame her and she fell asleep while waiting.
The viral video from September 10, which TOI couldn’t independently verify shows a train coming to a stop just inches away from her head after the driver applied emergency brakes and miraculously saved her life.Local residents quickly rushed to the scene and managed to escort her home, despite her initial resistance.

The footage also captures the moment when the locals forcefully pulled the girl off the tracks, potentially saving her life.
In the video, the girl can be seen resisting locals when they are trying to move away from the tracks. She can also be heard saying “ Aap log ko kya ho raha hai, chhodiye na mujhe(What’s the matter with you people, leave me).”
Notably, in the video, the girl can be seen wearing a bag that has some words imprinted on it. Ironically they say ‘Always smile’.
