His appearance comes almost a week after a contentious encounter with an Afghan fan, who reportedly misbehaved with the 24-year-old pacer following Pakistan’s seven-wicket victory against Ireland in the second T20I in Dublin.
Despite losing the first T20I to Ireland, Pakistan clinched the series with a 2-1 win.
Now, they face a tougher challenge as Babar Azam‘s team is set to play against the defending T20 World Cup champions. Ahead of their first game on Wednesday, Pakistan have released right-arm fast bowler Hasan Ali from their squad.
“The team management has decided to let Hasan Ali continue his commitments in county cricket. Initially, Hasan was selected as an injury cover for Haris Rauf,” stated the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
With Rauf now fit to play, Hasan will resume his county championship duties with Warwickshire.
Pakistan, the 2009 Men’s T20 World Cup champions, are the only team yet to announce their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the West Indies and the USA from June 1.
In the tournament, Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside 2007 winners India, co-hosts USA, Ireland, and Canada.
