NEW DELHI: The first 100 days of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term have been marked by significant achievements, news agency ANI reported citing government sources. The Prime Minister had set targets for officials before beginning his campaign for the 2024 general election, and several of these targets have been met, as per the sources.
The government cleared and approved projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore, focusing primarily on infrastructure development in roads, railways, ports, and airways in the first 100 days of Modi 3.0.The sources in the government also believes that increasing capital expenditure to Rs 11.11 lakh crore will lead to job creation.
Additionally, the national cooperative policy is in its final stages and will be launched soon.
The government released the 17th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, distributing Rs 20,000 crore to 9.3 crore farmers.
So far, Rs 3 lakh crore distributed to a total of 12 crore 33 lakh farmers, MSP (Minimum Support Price) for Kharif crops for 2024-25 increase which sources said has benefitted farmers by approximately Rs 2 lakh crore (benefitted 12 crore farmers).
The Modi government also approved the Polavaram Irrigation Project in Andhra Pradesh, allocating Rs 12,100 crore.
Additionally, seven major schemes with a total outlay of Rs 14,200 crore have been approved, including the Digital Agriculture Mission, which aims to enhance efficiency and productivity in the agricultural sector.
Government sources also highlighted the efforts made to improve ease of doing business and support youth in the first 100 days. Apart from abolishing angel tax and reducing corporate tax, the government is setting up a Rs 1000 crore venture capital fund for space sector startups. Approval has also been given for the Gen-Next Support for Innovation Startups (GENESIS) program, which will support startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
The Prime Minister’s package, amounting to Rs 2 lakh crore, has been unveiled within the first 100 days of the government’s tenure, aiming to foster employment and skill development opportunities for the youth, as per official sources. The initiative is expected to positively impact 41 million young individuals over the next five years.
The plan includes providing internships to 1 crore youth at leading companies, along with financial support and one-time assistance. Additionally, the government intends to train 20 lakh youth and upgrade 1,000 industrial training institutes. Moreover, the central government has declared over 15,000 new job openings.
The government has also worked for women empowerment. PM Modi awarded certificates to 11 lakh new Lakhpati Didis in the first 100 days. Government data indicates that currently, more than 1 crore Lakhpati Didis have an annual income exceeding Rs 1 lakh. Furthermore, the MUDRA loan limit has been raised from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
Under the Prime Minister’s Developed Tribal Village Campaign, the first 100 days will witness the development of 63,000 tribal villages, aimed at enhancing the socio-economic conditions of 5 crore tribal individuals.
In the health sector, 75,000 additional medical seats have been introduced, which is expected to contribute to a more efficient
The government’s focus during the initial 100 days also included the Purvoday Scheme, a comprehensive development plan for Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
Additionally, Rs 6,350 crore was allocated for Urban Flood Management and Glacial Lake Outburst Flood Risk Mitigation Projects. In Ladakh, five new districts were created: Zanskar, Dras, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang, bringing the total number of districts to 7, including Leh and Kargil.
Meanwhile, Centre signed a peace agreement was made with NLFT and ATTF in Tripura on September 4 after 35 years of conflict. 328 armed cadres renounced violence and joined the mainstream of society under this agreement.
A ‘Samanvay’ platform has been introduced to address cybercrime. Over the next 5 years, 5,000 cyber commandos will undergo training. The Cyberdost mobile app has been launched to facilitate the reporting of cybercrimes.
In collaboration with banks and financial intermediaries, an advanced ‘Cyber Fraud Mitigation Center’ (CFMC) has been established at I4C.
