NEW DELHI: Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday opened up about the invaluable role Rishabh Pant plays in the Indian cricket team.
Reflecting on his impact, Jadeja highlighted Pant’s energy while speaking to 7 Cricket, terming him as one of the best wicketkeeper-batters in the country at the moment.
“He is a very exciting cricketer. Whenever Pant is around in the team, he always makes everyone laugh; he is one of the best,” Jadeja said.
Pant, who was the hero of the final Test win at Gabba in 2021, is in exceptional form this time as well, and the excitement surrounding him continues to grow among both Australian and Indian fans ahead of the five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting in Perth on November 22.

Jadeja also expressed hope that Pant would bring his best to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and deliver match-winning performances.
Team India enters the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on the back of a disappointing home whitewash by New Zealand. The team is also grappling with selection issues, with regular skipper Rohit Sharma unavailable for the opening Test.
To make matters worse, Shubman Gill is also nursing an injury and is highly unlikely to play the first Test, leaving India with several challenges to overcome as they prepare for the series.
