2 held in Goa for Mumbai hoarding crash, sent to police custody | India News – Times of India



MUMBAI: A day after former director of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, Jhanvi Marathe, and civil contractor Sagar Kumbhar, were arrested from Goa Saturday in the May 13 Ghatkopar hoarding collapse case were produced in a court on Sunday and sent to police custody till June 15.
Last week, sessions court rejected Marathe’s anticipatory bail plea. Marathe and Kumbhar were arrested from a hotel in Goa.Earlier, a special probe team of crime branch had arrested Bhavesh Bhinde, director of Ego Media, and structural engineer Manoj Ramakrishna Sanghu in this case.
Police in its remand paper said Marathe was director of the company from Sept 5, 2016 to Dec 21, 2023 and was a director from approval of the hoarding to installation work. In a letter signed by Marathe, while communicating with railway police, she allegedly wrote that if the tender is given to their company, railway department would benefit.
Police stated that Marathe had written in 2021 to the GRP chief about commercial space near BPCL petrol pump and instead of 40×40 sq ft hoarding, if permission is given for 80×80 sq ft, railway department would earn 400% more revenue.
