5 best WWE promos of all time | WWE News – Times of India

In wrestling promotions like WWE, some of the best moments involve a game of words rather than action in the ring. Over the years, there have been a lot of wrestlers who’ve cut some fiery in-ring promotions which have had a larger impact than wrestling matches themselves.
So, here’s a list of five best promos that have been delivered in the squared circle.

CM Punk’s pipebomb

CM Punk’s pipebomb promo is legendary at this point, because the Second City Saint broke every single rule there was in the book with his words on Monday Night RAW in 2011, three weeks before he was set to face John Cena at Money in the Bank for the WWE Championship.

His promo got pretty real and drew a massive reaction from the crowd, and it was one of the reasons why the WWE parted ways with him soon after.
Memorable quote: “The fact that Dwayne is in the main event at Wrestlemania next year and I’m not, makes me sick!”

Hulk Hogan turns heel

Hulk Hogan was and still is one of the most prominent wrestlers of all time. While he was a babyface during the initial days of his career, his heel turn promo in 1996 following which he joined the New World Order is regarded as one of the best ones in the history of professional wrestling.

This drew a massive reaction from the crowds as they rained garbage into the ring. Such a reaction clearly shows how well the promo worked out for him.
Memorable quote: “You fans can stick it, brother, because if it wasn’t for Hulk Hogan, you people wouldn’t be here.”

21-1

The Deadman’s undefeated streak of 2 decades is absolutely legendary, however it was Brock Lesnar who managed to break the streak and became the one in 21-1. Following his victory over The Undertaker, Brock and his manager Paul Heyman made their way to the ring to cut one of the best promos to have been delivered from the ring.

When the streak was broken, the entire world was shocked, and Paul Heyman added to the effect with his promo the following night on RAW.
Memorable quote: “Brock Lesnar is the one because Brock Lesnar is the one in 21-1.”

This is my yard

The only other person to defeat the Deadman at Wrestlemania is Roman Reigns. Although many fans believe that the victory was somewhat unnecessary, Reigns delivered what would be the shortest promo and one of the most impactful promos in the industry.

The fun part about this promo is that when Roman came into the ring, he was met with a lot of boos and negative chants from the fans. He stood in the middle of the ring silently, and then just said a sentence before walking back to the locker room.
Memorable quote: “This is my yard now.”

Miss Lady Teacher

Bray Wyatt was exceptionally skilled both in the ring and on the microphone. He had an eerie aura around him, that he channeled very well through his promos on WWE. In 2014, Wyatt began his promo with Miss Lady Teacher, which didn’t get a favorable response from the audience.

However, what happened later on is nothing but magical, because by the time he ended his promo, the crowd rallied with him and was singing “He’s got the whole world in his hands.” Wyatt won over the crowds within the matter of a few minutes with nothing but just his words.
