9 die in 24 hours in Telangana rains; May toll hits 32 | India News – Times of India


HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 9 rain-related deaths on Sunday, raising the toll to 32 in May so far, weeks before the onset of monsoon.
On May 8, a two-hour spell of torrential rainfall resulted in the death of 20 people across the state, followed by another three deaths due to lightning.
On Sunday, 2 people died in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area.
Four construction workers died when the asbestos sheet along with a newly constructed wall collapsed on them in Nagarkurnool on Sunday.In another accident, a person died after a stone kept atop the asbestos sheet of a house flew off and hit their car’s windshield. In another incident, two people riding a bike from Bommalaramaram to Shamirpet died after a huge tree fell on them at Thimmaipalli in Keesara.
