‘Alliance only for LS’: AAP, Congress to part ways for assembly polls | India News – Times of India

Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday said its alliance with Congress in Delhi was restricted to Lok Sabha polls and ruled out the possibility of a seat-sharing arrangement in assembly elections, due early next year.
AAP’s Delhi state convener Gopal Rai said there was clarity that the alliance with Congress was forged for general elections. “We fought Lok Sabha elections together (with Congress) with honesty. There is no alliance…for Delhi assembly elections. We will fight this battle together with the people of Delhi and win it,” Rai said.
“When the alliance was discussed, both parties were of the firm view that it had to be only for Lok Sabha,” said Delhi Congress interim president Devender Yadav.
