NEW DELHI: Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 13 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Punjab state. It comprises of part of Hoshiarpur, S.A.S.Nagar district and entire Rupnagar and Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar district.
The constituency is reserved under ST category and consist of nine assembly seats which are Garhshankar,
Banga (SC), Nawan shahr, Balachaur, Anandpur Sahib, Rupnagar, Chamkaur Sahib (SC), Kharar, S.A.S.Nagar.The literacy rate of the constituency is 73.21%.
In 2019, INC candidate Manish Tewari won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 46,884 votes, securing 4,28,045 votes. Manish Tewari defeated Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra of the SAD, who got 3,81,161 votes. The constituency witnessed a significant voter turnout of 63.76% in 2019.
The date of voting for the Anandpur Sahib constituency of Punjab is June 1 (Phase 7) and the result will be announced on June 04.
BJP has fielded Subhash Sharma for the upcoming elections from this seat while INC has fielded Vijay Inder Singla. AAP has given ticket to Malvinder Singh Kang from this constituency.
