‘Eknath Shinde era over, he has been tossed aside’: Sanjay Raut ahead of Devendra Fadnavis swearing-in as Maharashtra CM | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday said that the era of Eknath Shinde‘s rule was over and claimed that he would “never be the CM of this state again.”
Speaking to the reporters, Sanjay Raut accused Bharatiya Janata Party of using him and tossing him aside. This came a day after the BJP unanimously picked Devendra Fadnavis for the top post in Maharashtra.
“Shinde era is over, it was just for two years. His usage is now over and he has been tossed aside. Shinde will never be the CM of this state again,” Raut said.
He also accused the BJP of using its political strategy to weaken and dismantle parties that align with them.
“They can even break Shinde’s party, this has always been BJP’s line in politics – they break and finish the party of those who work with them,” he said.
Questioning why the Mahayuti alliance took “15 days” to form government despite having a majority, Raut hinted at a potential rift within the ruling alliance and said that the “issue will start showing from tomorrow.”
“Devendra Fadnavis will be the CM of the state from today. He has the majority but despite that, they were unable to form the Government for 15 days – it means that there is something wrong within their party or Mahayuti. This issue will start showing from tomorrow,” he said.
“They are not working in the interest of Maharashtra or the country. They have come together out of their selfishness…But people across the state have come out on the streets against the election results, that they do not accept it. Still, the state is getting the CM today, we welcome him,” he added.

Meanwhile, Shinde expressed his contentment with the two-and-a-half-year tenure of the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra.
“I am very happy with the completion of two-and-a-half years. The work done by our government–the Mahayuti government–by the three of us and our team in the last 2.5 years is remarkable. It will be written in golden letters in history. We are proud to have taken such significant decisions,” he said.
Eknath Shinde would take oath as the deputy CM alongside Ajit Pawar on Thursday.
