KASHIPUR: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has inaugurated the “Uttarakhand Cell” to promote regional development and empower local communities. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), who highlighted the importance of willpower, self-discipline, and self-control as essential qualities for the youth of India to succeed.
The newly established Uttarakhand Cell aims to promote local products, such as Badri cow ghee, and establish “Uttarakhand as a Brand.” By collaborating with institutions like GB Pant Agricultural University, the initiative seeks to enhance various sectors, including agriculture, wellness, honey production, and spiritual tourism.A significant focus of the cell is to empower farmers and women in the region, addressing logistical challenges and improving education through partnerships with local universities.
During the inauguration, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with GB Pant University, Kumaun University, and Uttarakhand Technical University. These agreements are expected to foster collaborative efforts in achieving the state’s development goals. A representative from the state government will also be nominated to ensure that the initiatives align with Uttarakhand’s broader objectives.
With the establishment of the Uttarakhand Cell, IIM Kashipur reinforces its commitment to driving positive change and development in the region, paving the way for a prosperous future for its residents.
