Elon Musk has claimed that Vivek Ramaswamy and the billionaire himself wouldn’t get paid to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk was reacting to a post by Elizabeth Warren, US Senator, Massachusetts, who sarcastically said that how “efficient” it was that two individuals have been appointed to “do the work of one person.”
“Unlike you, neither of us are being paid, so it is very efficient indeed,” the richest man on planet said.
“DOGE will do great things for the American people. Let history be the judge,” he added.
DOGE has been designed to advance President-elect Donald Trump’s “Save America” movement. Its primary mission is to reduce government bureaucracy, eliminate unnecessary regulations, cut wasteful spending, and reorganize federal agencies.
As the two were appointed to head the department, Trump claimed, “They will work together to liberate our economy, and make the US government accountable to ‘WE THE PEOPLE’. Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026. A smaller government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence. I am confident they will succeed!”
