On Wednesday, Jasprit Bumrah made history by becoming India’s leading Test wicket-taker in Australia. He surpassed Kapil Dev’s previous record of 51 wickets during the second session on the final day of the ongoing third Test at the Gabba.

Bumrah now has 52 wickets from 10 Tests in Australia, while Kapil Dev ended his career with 51 wickets in 11 Tests on Australian soil.

By recording his sixth wicket of the match on Monday, he surpassed Ishant Sharma’s record of 130 wickets to become India’s most successful fast bowler in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries.
Ishant, who last played for India in 2021, accumulated 130 wickets in 41 Tests, including 31 in 13 Tests in Australia and 51 in 15 Tests in England. He took 28 wickets in six Tests in New Zealand and 20 in seven Tests in South Africa.
