Kolkata horror: Doctors association FORDA resumes strike after crime scene vandalism | India News – Times of India

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has decided to resume their strike in the wake of vandalism incident at the crime scene of brutal rape-murder at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The doctors association had called off the strike on Tuesday after the association received assurances from Union health minister JP Nadda during a meeting but released a statement on Thursday that they will resume their strike.
“FORDA continues the strike after the recent Tragic Incident at R G Kar and failure of government to deliver on promises in a timely manner as assured,” said FORDA in a post on X along with the press release confirming that they are resuming the strike.

Despite the decision by FORDA, several resident doctors’ associations have expressed their disagreement and stated their intention to continue the agitation. The Resident Doctors Associations (RDAs) of AIIMS, Safdarjung, and RML hospitals claimed that they were not consulted during the decision-making process and refused to end their strike.
