The Rohit Shetty’s directorial cop drama ‘Singham Again’ has been the talk of the town right from the word go. Released on Diwali, Singham Again has kept the cash register ringing from the very first day. And now the early estimates of day 15 have come in. According to the Sacnilk report, ‘Singham Again’ collected Rs.2.75 crore on the second Friday, making the total movie collection so far Rs.223.25 crore.
With these numbers, ‘Singham Again’ has gained the title of Ajay Devgn’s second highest-grosser, just inches behind ‘Drishyam 2,’ which made a lifetime collection of Rs.240.59 crores. Surpassing the same doesn’t look like much of a task for the movie now, and at his pace, the next target would be ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,’ with a domestic collection of 279.50 crores.
‘Singham Again’ wasn’t the only release on the Diwali weekend. It clashed with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri starrer horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’ Though the Aneez Banzmee directorial is also making successful strides at the box office and gaining a lot of love and appreciation from the audience, in the race of numbers Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn are leading.
In addition to Ajay Devgn, the movie has an ensemble cast with Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff as new edition, and Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh reprising the roles of Sooryavanshi and Simba. Further, Salman Khan’s cameo as Chulbul Panday is another highlight. Talking of highlights, Arjun Kapoor as the villain has won hearts and solidified his place in the industry as a versatile star.
