T20 World Cup: Wasim Jaffer gives a savage reply to post alleging advantage to Team India | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Former Indian Test opener Wasim Jaffer is known for his witty and savage replies on X, specially to England cricketers.
Jaffer enjoys a love-hate banter with former England captain Michael Vaughan and both spare no chance to have a go at each other regarding their cricket team’s performances.
On Sunday, an English cricket website alleged that the T20 World Cup schedule favours Team India specially the timing of the semi-finals of the tournament.
The website alleged that Team India is aware of their semi-final venue (Guyana) and that match is scheduled to start at 8 PM IST on June 27, that is the prime time for India, while the first semi-final starts at 6 AM IST on June 26 in Trinidad.
Despite the final to be held on June 29, the website further alleged that there is no reserve day for the second semi-final while the first semi-final has a reserve day.
To this, Wasim Jaffer simply came out with a one-line savage reply on Monday: “It’s one thing to know where your SF will be played, it’s another thing to qualify for it. For example WTC Final have always been held in England but England have never qualified. #T20WorldCup”

Led by Rohit Sharma, Team India would be looking to end their long-standing ICC trophy drought in this edition.
India last saw a major title triumph in the 2013 Champions Trophy.
India made the final of last year’s ODI World Cup at home but lost to Australia in front of a crestfallen packed house at the world’s biggest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.
In this year’s T20 World Cup India face Ireland (June 5), Pakistan (June 9), the United States (June 12) and Canada (June 15) in the group phase of the tournament.
