JD Vance is in the center of a major controversy with prominent voiced adding their dissent to what the Republican VP candidate feels about ‘childless cat ladies‘. Videos have emerged of JD Vance saying he feels that people without child have less stake in the future and so they should not have the same voting rights as the people with children etc.He called Kamala Harris, AOC and Pete Buttigieg ‘childless cat ladies’ who are running the country.
Journalist David Weigel recounted speaking to JD Vance when he spouted something similar like ‘childless cat ladies’ and explained it. David wrote in Semafor that in 2022 JD Vance gave a Covid example for what he advocates. He at that time said that left policies are harmful to kids as left politicians are mostly childless.
Childless policymakers favored school mask mandated during the Covid-19 pandemic, the anti-mask senator said. “When you have children, and you’ve interacted with children regularly, I think you realize how many of the left policies are really harmful to kids,” he said. “That was the most egregious example.”
JD Vance drew flak for calling Kamala Harris and other Democratic leaders as ‘childless cat ladies’ while his target was not the Democrat leaders but childless people — as a whole. “Look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. How does it make any sense we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?” JD Vance said in the old controversial video.
In another video, he said parents should get more voting rights than childless people as they have much investment in the future. “Let’s give votes to all children in this country. But let’s give control over those votes to the parents of those children. (Claps from audience). When you go to the polls in this country as a parent, you should have more power, you should have more of an ability to speak your voice in our democratic republic than people who don’t have kids. Let’s face the consequences in the reality. If you don’t have as much of an investment in the future of the country, maybe you shouldn’t get nearly the same voice,” Vance said in another controversial clip.
